Package Overview
Kashmir — rightfully called "Heaven on Earth" — is India's most breathtaking destination. Snow-capped Himalayan peaks, emerald meadows bursting with wildflowers, the serene expanse of Dal Lake with its iconic shikaras and houseboats, and the charming hospitality of Kashmiri people make this a journey unlike any other in the world.
Our 5-night Kashmir land package covers the four essential experiences: a night on a traditional wooden houseboat on Dal Lake, the Gulmarg Gondola cable car to 13,000 feet with its panoramic Himalayan views and winter skiing, the pastoral beauty of Pahalgam and Betaab Valley immortalised in Bollywood films, and the otherworldly glacial landscape of Sonamarg.
This is a land-only package — flights to/from Srinagar are not included and need to be booked separately. Srinagar airport (SXR) has direct connections from Delhi (1.5h), Mumbai, and other major cities. Our Kashmiri guides have 10+ years of experience and speak Hindi, English, and Kashmiri — ensuring a safe, immersive experience.

Must-Visit Places
Top spots you cannot miss on this trip
Dal Lake & Shikara Ride
The iconic jewel of Kashmir — a 22 sq km lake ringed by the Zabarwan mountains, its surface covered in lotus gardens and floating vegetable markets. A shikara ride at dawn or sunset is the definitive Kashmir experience.
The 6am shikara ride catches the floating vegetable market vendors and morning mist on the lake. The sunset ride (5pm) catches the Pir Panjal mountains turning pink.
Gulmarg Gondola (Phase I + II)
One of the world's highest and longest cable cars, ascending to 13,400 feet at Apharwat Peak for jaw-dropping views of Nanga Parbat (8,126m) — the world's 9th highest mountain — and the entire Pir Panjal range.
Book Phase II gondola (Apharwat) tickets online in advance — they sell out weeks ahead in season. Start early (8am) to avoid afternoon cloud cover.
Pahalgam & Betaab Valley
The "Valley of Shepherds" at 2,440m — a lush green valley where the Lidder River rushes over boulders through pine forests. Betaab Valley (named after a 1983 Bollywood film shot here) is the most photogenic stretch.
Hire a local horse for the Baisaran meadow above Pahalgam (₹500–800) — it's called "Mini Switzerland" and offers views over the entire valley.
Sonamarg & Thajiwas Glacier
At 2,800m, Sonamarg ("Meadow of Gold") is a dramatic mountain valley with a glacier visible from the road. The 2km pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier crosses alpine meadows with Indian Army peaks in the background.
Visit June–October when Sonamarg is accessible and glacier is blue. April–May it's buried under snow — beautiful but activities are limited.
Experiences & Activities
What you'll do on this trip
Houseboat Stay on Dal Lake
Spend a night on a traditional Kashmiri cedar houseboat — handcrafted woodwork interiors, a private front deck, and a shikara on call 24/7. Wake up to the lake at sunrise with breakfast served on water.
Snow Activities at Gulmarg
Skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and snowmobile rides on the Himalayan slopes at Gulmarg Ski Resort (Oct–April). Asia's best snow terrain at an incredibly affordable price compared to Swiss or Austrian resorts.
Srinagar Old City Heritage Walk
Walk through the 700-year-old Jamia Masjid, Shah Hamdan shrine, and the historic Khanqah-e-Moula mosque — all in the old city's labyrinthine lanes, alongside artisans making Kashmir carpets and paper mache.
Travel Tips
Expert advice before you go
Best months: April–June (tulips and spring), July–August (peak green), September–October (autumn gold). December–March for snow but Sonamarg/Pahalgam may be closed.
Gulmarg gondola tickets must be booked online (ski-india.com) 2–4 weeks in advance during peak season — they sell out completely.
Kashmir is safe for tourists — over 2 million domestic tourists visit annually. Exercise normal travel precautions and follow local guidance.
Houseboat rates are negotiable — always book through a registered houseboat owner (not touts at the shore). YlooTrips handles all booking.
Carry warm layers even in summer — Sonamarg and Gulmarg are cold at 2,800–4,000m. Nights even in July can drop to 8°C.
Local Kashmiri food is unmissable — try wazwan (30-course feast), rogan josh, yakhni, kahwa (saffron tea), and sheer chai (pink tea). These are best at local restaurants, not hotels.
