Package Overview

Ladakh is unlike anywhere else on earth. At 3,500 metres altitude, the landscape is a staggering panorama of barren mountains, impossibly blue lakes, ancient monasteries, and Buddhist prayer flags fluttering in a crystal clear sky. The "Land of High Passes" earns its name — Khardung La (5,359m) is one of the highest motorable roads in the world.

Our 6-night package covers the essential Ladakh circuit. You'll acclimatise in Leh (3,524m) before pushing to Pangong Tso (4,350m) — the extraordinary lake that turns from blue to green to turquoise depending on the angle of light. Nubra Valley (north of Khardung La) has double-humped Bactrian camels and the surreal dunes of Hunder. Then Tso Moriri (4,500m) — a remote, pristine lake that makes Pangong look crowded.

Ladakh demands respect. The altitude is serious — we build 2 acclimatisation days into the itinerary and our vehicles always carry oxygen. Best season: June–September. July–August is peak but magnificent.

Pangong Tso — the most photographed lake in India (4,350m altitude)
Khardung La Pass — one of the highest motorable roads in the world (5,359m)
Nubra Valley — Bactrian camel rides on sand dunes at 10,000 feet
Tso Moriri — remote sacred lake, flamingos, and no crowds
Thiksey Monastery — the "Ladakhi Potala Palace" at sunrise
Magnetic Hill and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib
Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa
Hemis Monastery — the richest monastery in Ladakh

Must-Visit Places

Top spots you cannot miss on this trip

Pangong Tso Lake
nature

Pangong Tso Lake

A 134km high-altitude salt lake at 4,350m, spanning India and China. The water changes colour from blue to green to violet as clouds move across it. The far bank is Chinese territory — visible clearly.

Overnight camping at Pangong is the ultimate Ladakh experience — wake up to the lake at sunrise in total silence before day-trippers arrive at 9am.

Khardung La Pass (5,359m)
experience

Khardung La Pass (5,359m)

One of the world's highest motorable passes — a Ladakh bucket list crossing. The plateau views of the Karakoram range and the descent into the Shyok Valley are extraordinary.

Don't spend more than 20 minutes at the pass top — oxygen is very low. Just photo-stop and descend. Don't exert yourself.

Nubra Valley & Diskit Monastery
culture

Nubra Valley & Diskit Monastery

The "Valley of Flowers" at 3,048m, accessed via Khardung La. Sand dunes with Bactrian (double-humped) camels, and the 32m Maitreya Buddha statue at Diskit Monastery overlooking the valley.

The 6am morning prayers at Diskit Monastery with monks and butter lamps is one of Ladakh's most moving experiences. Ask your guesthouse to arrange a wake-up call.

Travel Tips

Expert advice before you go

Spend 2 nights in Leh (3,524m) before doing any high-altitude driving. Altitude sickness is real — rest, hydrate, avoid alcohol.

Take Diamox 250mg twice daily (consult doctor first). Start 1 day before arriving in Leh.

June–September: all roads open. October–May: Manali-Leh road closes; Leh airport operates year-round.

Inner Line Permits for Pangong and Nubra are now merged into a single e-permit — YlooTrips handles all permits for you.

Ladakh destroyed all our benchmarks. Pangong Tso is indescribably beautiful. Nubra with the camels was surreal. And Tso Moriri was the most peaceful place I have ever been. YlooTrips was flawless.

We've been to Patagonia, Namibia, and Mongolia. Ladakh rivals all of them. The altitude is real — Day 1 rest rule is essential. But from Day 2 onwards: pure magic.

Third time in Ladakh and this was the best organised trip. Tso Moriri is criminally undervisited. ILP permits, accommodation, driver — everything sorted perfectly by YlooTrips.
