When is the best time to see the Great Migration in Kenya?

The Great Migration river crossings at the Mara River peak July–October, with August and September typically the most dramatic. However, the Masai Mara has outstanding wildlife year-round — the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino) are seen in every month. January–March is calving season (wildebeest calves) in Tanzania and offers excellent wildlife with fewer tourists.

What should I pack for a Kenya safari?
